It's a unique – almost magic – place where the river Rhineand the Mosel meet, coming together from South and West to flow to the North: the Deutsche Eck in the heart of Koblenz. Time is flowing as well: from past to present and towards an unknown future. It is part of our changing world but it can still stand as a symbol for confidence and continuity.
Following these thoughts ten artists from seven nations are working at the second “Confluentes” exhibition. They are going to present their pieces of art which have a direct connection to the place itself, like Kyrill Koval's (Russia) and Lieve Vanderschaeve's (Belgium) works, or which just try to catch its romantic atmosphere like Christa Sturm's “Ophelia”.

Being caught in time and space is part of Barbara Vallribera's ( Spain ), Birgit Kahle's ( Italy ), Elias Maya's, and Miao Xiaochun's ( China ) creations. Contradtictions as well as harmony of water and light appear in the work of Toshinao Kikuchi ( Japan ) and Lila Mookerjee (India/Netherlands), the playful sculptures made by Jennifer Kiernan (USA) seem to be of a botanic origin.
