In cooperation with the Brazilian Government, the Commission of Foreign Trade (APEC), the Instituto Genesis and numerous Brazilian and international establish-ments the Ludwig Museum plans the "Brazilian Art Project".
Target of this comprehensive exhibition is to visualize many different sides of Brazilian culture and art with their various influences (e. g. Indian or African) by laying emphasis on showing (besides paintings, sculpture and photography) installations and video-art.
These presentations will be accompanied by lots of different activities, like for example a scholarship to work in Cologne or Aachen, sponsored by the Ludwig Foundation, and the initiative "Art Helps", which intends to support artists by putting up their works to the international Fine Art Trade for auction.
For the exhibition in Koblenz there will be a selection of about 40-50 artists, some of them are internationally recommanded, and others, whose works were almost never before shown in Europe . Afterwards the exhibits will be presented for example in Hungary , Swiss, Spain , Portugal , China (inquiries of Peking are made) and Cuba , they will be sent to New York and, finally, to Brazil .
The Ludwig Foundation supports the exhibition in Koblenz , Budapest , Peking and Cuba .
There will also be an extensive cultural program, consisting of musical events (folkloristic as well as classical), dancing performances and a market for Brazilian products and specialities.
