Aino Kannisto belongs without doubt to the most interesting Finnish photography artists. With her unconventional view on herself she creates ever new situations in which she shows women in everyday situations. In her constructed scenes she creates a seeming idyll, subtly added by aspects of irritation and horror. Thus Kannisto develops highly intense pictures with a visual appeal which you cannot evade.
The exhibition will be enlarged by works of Eva Persson and Tiina Itkonen. With these three artists important and at the same time different positions of Finland within the medium photography have been chosen, each representing in an individual way what is – even by the unknowing observer - associated with the Finnish lifestyle and a young generation’s spirit of awakening.
A short catalogue will be available for approx. 10 €.
