Offerings–

for Kindergartens, Schools and Day-Nurseries

The Pedagogical Section of the museum develops, in response to each current exhibition in the Ludwig Museum , an attractive, age-relevant series of offerings for kindergartens, school classes, day-nursery groups or other circles of children. The events are customarily divided into two parts. The children first become familiar with selected aspects of the institution and the collection by wandering through the museum with the help of seaching-games or rallies. Afterwards, the young visitors to the museum have the opportunity of responding creatively to that which they have seen and experienced in terms of a concrete task with which they are presented.

Oriented towards the current plan of instruction for the subject "Visual Arts" and in close collaboration with the professionals who tend to the children, the contents and schedules (also outside of the regular opening times) are brought into accordance with the needs of each individual group.

Young People (outside school)

The Pedagogical Section of the museum regularly offers workshops and activities for children and young people who are enthused about art and who enjoy painting, modeling and taking photos. In vacation-workshops or in seasonally-defined activities such as those during Advent, young people have the opportunity, under qualified supervision and along with their peers, of experiencing art and discovering their own artistic capabilities.

The Wednesday Painting Workshop takes place regularly on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The participation fee is 4.50 Euros and includes materials. Supervision: Ute Hofmann-Gill.

Furthermore there is the possibility of celebrating a child's birthday in the museum. The price is 50.00 Euros for groups up to ten children and includes supervision and material.

for Teachers and Instructors

As a teacher or instructor, do you feel a need for an introduction to the current exhibition or information concerning specific themes, artistic techniques, special artworks or the collection of the institution?

The Pedagogical Section of the museum presents to you - similarly to a plan of instruction - manners of proceeding, themes and areas of inquiry, and furthermore provides impulses for continuing the practical-creative work with children and young people in schools, kindergartens and day-nurseries.

Appointments for the events in which you would like to participate may be made by telephone with the Secretarial Office.
